- This animation is absolutely glorious. Just take a moment to appreciate that this was all done by somebody’s hand; that they slaved over this, and this was the result of a human, not a computer. It’s completely perfect.
- Are we not gonna talk about the fact that the reflection is Ariel and Prince Eric?
- Wait… but Sleeping Beauty came out in 1959, and The Little Mermaid came out in 1989… that’s a 30 year foreshadow…
Disney you clever bastards.

In 2002, a teenaged Mike Brodie began 10 years of hopping freight trains. He covered 50,000 miles through 46 states, which he tracked using his trusty Railroad Atlas of North America. In 2004, he came into possession of a Polaroid camera that he used so frequently his nickname became Polaroid Kidd. Then in 2006, he upgraded to 35mm.
For the next 3 years, he captured images across the country from the gritty perspective of a new generation of hobos on the hunt for freedom. His work is collected in the book, A Period of Juvenile Prosperity.
